THE WHOLE THING!!!
Well I picked up some G31 yellowtops (the big ones) from a teammate of mine at the ca.com meet yesterday, and today I had the pleasure of fitting these big bastards into my S-10.

As you may recall, I already had 2 batteries under the hood that looked like this:

First step, taking the old, weaker batteries out.

Next I took the passenger (stock) battery tray out so I could get enough clearance.

Look at all that room //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

After that I fabbed up some platforms out of some spare birch and 2x4's I had lying around.

First the passenger side

Then I got the driver's side in

Lastly I got all my wiring back in. The only shitty part was that I don't have enough ring terminals to finish the job today. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Oh well.

I'm actually surprised I got them both to fit standing upright and in the "stock" locatoins. I thought for sure that I was going to have to put them on their sides or something. So I'm happy.

that looks beautiful what ya running now?
Still the same stuff, but these should help out once i get some more power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

nice custom ram air //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Ghetto fabulous bish. Had to think of something!

wood in the engine bay...
did u use thomsons water sealer on it at least?
Hell no, that's for *******.

looks awful!!
get rid of that vaccum thing on there too lol

btw nice intake!

jp man looks great i can't believe you were able to fit em
I know. They fit almost TOO easy.

big question should be how much did you gain? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
No idea. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Started to get cold out, plus it was drizzling and getting dark out.

Maybe I'll test tomorrow. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My G31 dropped right in the stock location and the stock battery hold down fit right over top as well. Looks real good though buddy.
I could have cut up the factory tray and possibly used it, but making my own gave me a little more clearance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's a tight fit under the hood of this thing.

And to answer your (most likely coming) questions....

YES, the hood does close

NO, the terminals do not hit the hood

YES, the batteries are secured down and don't move.
Actually I was going to ask about the lobe separation on the exhaust side of the camshaft //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Looks good man. OK one question, is the 8 gauge wire on the pass side batt an SPL trick you're not sharing?????

I know you ran out of ring terminals, just messin with ya //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

The ring terminals on the passenger side are for the vehicle, starter, and the highs amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
