profile amp cooked sub

my profile amp cooked one voice coil and was starting to cook my brand new kicker comp .called kicker told me to check amp for dc current .i did it was on that channel . was this a bad amp or my install?

uhhhhhhh how did you check if it was throwing a DC signal? they way i found out was that it sucked my sub in when it happened to a soundstream amp i had.

it was probraly the amp. though a few questions: what amp was it? how did you wire the amp to the sub? how did you set your gain? how did you set your EQ on your head unit?
