Problems with Pioneer Premier 960

I've had this cd player since april of 04 and havent had any problems yet. However, i get in my car last night and when it turns on (it automatically slides out) it powers off after sliding halfway down...5 seconds later it'll go back up and start the process over and over until i press open again to stop it. The cd player still works if i use it with it closed it's just i cant get to any of the main functions. What makes this even more frustrating is that out of 2 years ive had no problems but in less than 2 weeks im hooking up my first system and it has to go out like this.....I've cleaned the faceplate connections with alcohol and i've unplugged the harness from and back and reset it but it's still doing it. What do i need to do to get this thing fixed and how many of yall have experienced this type problem.

If you buy the parts from Pioneer (part GXY1005), you can repair the ribbon cable yourself and it works for sure. I had the same problem and ordered it on ebay for $35 USD shipped to me and it takes like 15 minutes to install it. Give Pioneer a call and see what they can do for you, it's a very easy fix!
