hey this is my first sub and im having some minor problems that i am not sure if they are normal or not...so help me out

the biggest problem is i just found out i now have 2 cracks in the front platic part i think its called the cone...i have only had the sub for a week....is this a normal thing?...it hasnt effected the sound yet but is it gonna be a problem?...i broke it in and i have not abused it at all...i have a hatch so its right behind my head so obviously i havnt been keepin it on full blast cuz i'd be deaf with 1000 watts...anyway help

also the bass just recently started cutting out sometimes...it usually happens when the sub moves or somthing so i no its not overheating or anything...i think it is probably the connection somewhere but im not sure where...because everything seemed to be plugged in right...the bass was not totally cutting out because i could still barely feel it on the sub so it is probably the power connection or somthin

thanks for any help

I had the same problem with the cutting out on my first system, turned out to be the HU not keeping up and being able to supply a full signal during high output notes.

As far as the cracks...they are NOT normal. I would assume there was some damage during shipping and you should contact RE, or rather the shipping company.

i dont wanna have to worry about shipping it back and all if its not gonna effect the sound...but if it will let me now...the looks are really not an issue its the sound i care about

how do i fix that...my head unit is brand new...are you sure it wouldnt be the wiring?

Well i had the same problem with both of my mtx thunder6000's, and it didnt affect the sound at all, and i know its not good for it, but what i did was put epoxy on both side of the crack (dont get it on anything but the cone). Althought it may not look brilliant, it will definately help hold the cone in tact. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

a guy on this forum built it for an RE SE that he had before but was not using the box anymore so he gave it to me...he said the dimmensions are pretty much the same...and it fits fine

id still contact RE about the cracked cone. whether it was there or not in the first place is one thing, but if it cracks under normal usage then its RE's problem not yours. call them about it is my suggestion.

Theres nothing in the world that the sub can do to "crack" the top of the cone. Something had to have hit/punctured it.
Make sure your box isnt sliding around in the trunk.
Hmmm...that solves my case then. It must of been my crazy 180lb rottweiler rolling around in my room with his claws, and my subs where in my room. **** Him to Hell. On that not: DONT LEAVE DOGG AROUND SUBS UNATTENDED //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
