problems from a broken antenna?

What sort of problems can this lead to? Mainly, Im trying to figure out if it might be the reason for the noise Im getting, which some of you (Im sure) remember. I never even thought about it, but my antenna broke a couple months ago. I didnt think about it because I dont listen to the radio at all.

A shop pulled the deck out, and hooked it up on their bench, and there was no noise, they also told me it was "definitely" the antenna being broken, and that I should just unhook it. Thoughts?

I cannot imagine that being a problem other than not being able to listen to the radio....When you unhook the antenna does the noise go away?

Just unplug the feedline from the deck if you don't listen to the radio at all.
