Probably the most noob question yet?

just installed my shitty sony xplod system in my car; no bass at all and so i was wondering if i could take the subwoofer from my house sony system and install it in the trunk of the car and then fabricated housing for it. I'm guessing this won't work at all, but was just wondering?

why would a sony car stereo system not work right with a (i.e) kenwood house sub? it just doesnt sound like it would make a difference IMO

i mean sony does make any different power than anything else, right? power is power, doesnt change by brands.

Since the house sub is sony also, it should work fine. You want to make sure you do not mix brands when combining car and home audio in your vehicle.
He is being a smart ***. See on this forum rather than helping people they like to make jokes at your expense in order to get more forum rep.

You can use a home sub, but more than likely it will be 8 ohm. Your amp will not put out as much power. If it says 150rms it will be less at 8ohm due to the amp being rated at 4ohm (typically)

I have seen home audio equipment installed in cars before. Not always with the best of luck, but get a model of the sub and I will see if you have any wiring options.
