prob with prestiage cd player

alright my friend bought a prestiage against my advise i recomended pioneer alpine and at least sony before that one he diddnt listen well he bought an amp and a couple tens well when we hook up the rca's the internal amp quits working and the subs cut in and out when we undo the rcas the internal amp works so we hooked his amp and subs to my alpine and they work great whats wrong with his cd player and what cd player would you guys recomend if his needs to be replaced he has $145 for a new one thanks for the help
