Prius Outdoes Hummer in Environmental Damage

well the two common ways of getting it of course are extracting it from water or extracting it from gasoline
it takes a shit ton of energy to get it from water, and they estimated that it would be more taxing on the environment.

And you see the problem with using gas as a source for hydrogen....

of course this was many years ago, its not fresh in my head.
Lots and lots and lots and lots of electricity converted to produce hydrogen...

It would basically be like running eeeeeeron's Stereo system right at the power plant. There would be no power left on the grid.

i've always told people to just buy a diesel if they want good mileage. Anyone who thinks they're getting 45-50mpg in their prius is sniffing something.

We've gone backwards since the early 80's.

My wife and I bought a new Civic back in 1984 (with auto ******) that would get 46 mpg on the highway, 39 mpg in the city.

I think the problem with todays cars is all the extra weight they carry due to the dealers reliance on making all their profit margins from the factory installed accessories that new cars come loaded down with.

That Civic we bought had crank windows, and didnt even come with a radio.

Try to find something like that at your local dealer.

2003 Honda Civic Hybrid... Battery cost was about $7300 to replace. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif The battery itself was $6800 and labor to install it was $500. I know this first hand and can scan the dealership invoice if anyone wants to see it. If I can find it. We had it replaced about 9 months ago or so. Thank god it was covered under warrenty. We traded it in for our Nissan Frontier about 3 weeks after having it replaced.

HAHAHAHA! My ex-girlfriend works for fish and game; she thought that the hybrid cars were the best thing that came out of the automotive industry. She also kept trying to convince me that they were better cars with better technology. (I still am a firm beliver that anything new is going to have tons of issues to be dealt with). Meanwhile I have a friend with a 93 Civic VX that did 45mpg on a 400 mile trip and he didnt have to get gas the week he was visiting here.

DOWN WITH THE HYBRID!

When they make hybrid cars equipped with a Mr. Fusion they will be awesome. Until then it will strictly be the territory of acid-addled psuedo-hippies trying to make a point in their own idiotic community.

Not much different than people running 2,000 wrms in subs with $3000 rims in the cars we see here.

Like everything in life its 90% perception 10% sense.

Much like this post.
