price for deading

01

also if i put comps upfront and then the kicker midbass free air 6" or 8" if i can fit them in the doors in the rear i have 6.5inch speakers in the back now so 8's might fit would that sound good to go along with 2 12's

shoot man just do it yourself. order fatmat , raammatt , second skin . i just got 50sq ft of fatmat $60 plus shipping but that's more then enough to do your doors. ok here's what u do
STEPS

1.) pull off the door panel most of the time there just plastic clips/poppers that u can pop out from the actual metal on the door . (CAUTION: Make sure that all screws are taken out first of the door panel)

2.) take out the speaker

3.) clean off the door panel if it has anything on it

4.) get yourself a wooden roller or rubber roller whichever

5.) take each sheet of deadner and slowly roll on the deadner to the door making sure that it is flat and sticking on the door fully

6.) make sure the door is done fully but do the inside of the door first i should of stated that first sry (making sure though the window can roll up and down with no problems.)

7.) put the speaker back in (make sure your connections on the speaker are still good not loose)

8.) put the door panel back in pop the poppers/clips back in

9.) put the screws back in the door

10.) test door panel make sure it's on there correctly

11.) give yourself a pat on the back because u just saved yourself a good amount of cash by doing it yourself:D.

need anymore help man just lmk. Good luck.

Excellent post and good advice!

Also I ordered 100sqft of Fatmat a couple of weeks ago and got it the next day, lol! One of the best online purchasing expierences I have had to date. Mine was free shipping though.

You are going to put 8" speakers in the back doors? I wouldn't do that. Just do a nice componet set up front. Maybe even go active if you have the cash. Also what do you mean free air your midbass speakers?

The kickers work well in free air applications .Meaning they dont have to be sealed off or anything like that .

thanks bigbang. im no longer a new-b i just wish i could change my name:(. but other's know me here by this so would **** 2 deal with refs. i can't wait till i finally get to start my install . all i need is a headunit get my rear windows tinted. and im good:D.

ok so i shouldnt use the free air kickers in the rear

i plan on comps for the front and i want something for just a lil rear fill and midbass thats why i was loking at a supershallow 8inch speaker for midbass

what frequencies should i crossover everything at

to do that do i need an equalizer or what

don't need to worrry about a 8" for midbass in rear cause if you have a good front stage and have a good amp to them and got everything set right your front stage will sound great. in my opinion 8 in the rear would be a waste of cash. id take that cash put it towards a good front stage component set & front stage amp:D.

It's cool mang! I always thought you were cool when others gave you shit! Everyone starts off some where.

You gonna take pics of the install?

I am doing mine when it warms up.

Oh yeah man for sure im gonna take pics/vids and im gonna compete this summer in taylor michigan will be my first year:D:). yeah man true you just gotta go through sh*t sometimes to earn your credit to ya know.

Avoid FatMat, you'll do much better with a butyl mat like RAAMmat or Second Skin. Aluminum flashing from the Home Depot roofing department is the easiest way to close the access holes. $10 buys a roll with more than you need. It's fairly easy to bend and you can cut it with heavy scissors. Double up for extra strength. A few self tapping screws and and some silicone adhesive and you are good to go. Make sure the silicone cures before you apply deadener anywhere around it - kills the adhesive otherwise.

And definitely yes, do it yourself.
