So I was trying to clamp my amp which I coyld tell I was using a ****** clamp and while I was doing some testing I smelt something like it was on fire it smelt like propane so I checked the car everything was good. Play a 20 Hz sine wave and the subs start making a popping noise I have no problem messing with 20 Hz don't turn it up too high so I go to read the ohm load and it went up from 1 ohm to 2.Soooo I'm guessing a coil went out

Lol that's not the point really I don't care about that I care abou my subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif had a comp on Sat too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Possibly a tinsel, but odds are you broke a sub somehow. Pull them and check each coil.

Tinsels are prone to failing if you put glue on them. That is a very poor design move.

OP, you may be able to repair that. Pop off the dustcap and try to uncover the coil leads. Either scrape away glue with an exacto knife or something or you might try some acetone to get some of the glue off. If you can expose some metal you can drill a hole through the cone and run up some new tinsels, secure them to the coil lead and glue it up.

Looks like they burnt through the spider... I dont think that will hold up very well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I rescued an AQ 15 for a friend that failed just like this. It's probably multiple spiders and spiders really don't tear well, so if you can replace the tinsels you should be able to get some more go out of it.

I believe it only ripped through one layer of spider its a 6 layer spider got 5 left //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif lol yea It does look like it could be repaired but I agree with what u said the tinsel lead job by fi is very poor on this woofer I'm thinking psi recones with some bomb quad tinsel leads

Lol ill trade u the bad one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif haha nope love my 18's doing 2 more gonna try and make that thing a low end monster
