Premier DEHP780MP vs Premier DEHP860MP

i just ordered a 780 because i liked the look of the screen.. i wasnt looking at the 860 though.. just the deh-780mp VS 880prs.. i decided i didnt need auto EQ or 16 bands L/R.. 16 total is enough for me.

same thing hear. i just recieved my 780 from ups. it'll be going in this weekend. and ill have some pictures aswell.

Choosing between these 2 decks is going to depend on what you're looking for personally. The 780 has a few more eq bands and a much nicer looking screen. The 860 has a little higher pre out voltage (prob won't notice the difference) and has NETWORK mode for going active which the 780 does NOT do. Other than that there aren't too many differences between these 2 units.

So in short, if you want to go active its the 860. If you're looking for a nicer, newer looking screen then the 780 will perform very well too.

i can honestly say that i did notice a difference in voltage of the preouts. I know i might be comparing apples to oranges here, but i had a panasonic 9700 HU with 5V preouts and then put in the P860, i turned down the gains on my amp before hooking up my 860 and when i turned it on, the volume at the same exact point on the pioneer was significantly louder and cleaner with the amps gains set lower. I am very pleased, i get the best of both worlds! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Did your 860 have any problems?? I got mine in '04 and had ZERO problems with it so far. All in all the 860 (minus the bad ones that came out) is one of the better units Pioneer has put out.
