Does anyone have experience with these? I am guessing it is about the same as the 880PRS. I like the features, but I really don't know what the hell I'm doing. the 16 band EQ is one of the reasons why I got it, but I know nothing about time alignment and most of the other features it comes with. I was using a 690UB, and this seems like a big step up from that one.

I was just wanting to ask a few questions about the unit. I have a 3 way Clarion crossover that I used on the 690, but with this unit is that even needed? It is a great looking HU. Very clean looking and the SQ is noticeably better from the previous model. I just think that it may be a little too much radio for me.

It sounds like it may be too much for you....

All the settings can get quite confusing sometimes

Time Alignment is for setting the distance of your speakers...like the passenger front is 2.5 ft away and drivers is 1.5ft away...rear drivers side is 4 ft away rear passengers is 4.2 ft away etc....

It basically is to set the sound stage by slowing the sound sent to each speaker in milliseconds or something like that

With a smaller system like just door speakers/components it's most of the time not necessary from my experience....when I had two sets of component speakers for front and rear on my old system with the Pioneer P1R head unit I used it

Without knowing exactly how your system is set up and everything it's hard to say whether you would need the crossover you have

That's my setup in my sig plus the clarion 3 way crossover. All of it in a 1999 Chrysler 300M.

I'm not scared to work with the HU, but like I said, coming from a 690 last year which I thought was a great HU, this one is way better. Only thing missing was the bluetooth but i think the 980bt has that built in.
