Precision Power Sedona amps?

So after seeing the replies and reading around on the Boss R1100M amp that I was planning to use with my next sub I've decided to return it. The sub I'm using is a single Rockford Fosgate R2D4-10 10" sub (250 Watt RMS, 4 Ohm DVC). I am looking at the PP Sedona 270.1 (270 watts x 1 @ 2 Ohms, 170 watts x 1 @4 Ohms). Would this be a good amp? I'm wiring the sub to a 2 Ohm load so I would get the full 270 watts, but are the PP amps good, and will it put of the power advertised? Also, 2 other things; am I thinking right in the way I want to set it up, and is 8 gauge wiring enough? Thanks!

You don't have to use all 500 watts. Headroom is a good thing, amps can always be turned down but never turned up. Things Lind imp rise will also take away power. If you set it to put out 400 watts you will have headroom and make up for imp rise. It will only be getting around 250-300 on music.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in on Precision Power, amp. I recently put a amp in for a friend, and he got a P.P , P900.4.. - TO run his front components and bridge rear for sub. HOLY COW, it's cheap made,, but seem to put out, and clean. What a pain the connections are, and adjusting HPF, LPF..Also loose RCA INPUTS. His Jenson 4 channel amp 75 RMS @4 OHMS, was better built..and CEA Compliant.
