ok i came across what i thought was a really good deal

4 10'' jl w3's in a box and

a precision power pc2150 power class 15th anniversary limited edition amp

for 150.00

so i got it all and its all it really good condition

but as far as the amp gose howmany watt's is it???

where could i get a manul on this thing??

any info ???

thank you seth

If I'm not mistaken the PC2150 should have been rated as follows (RMS):

150W x 2 into 4 Ohms

300W x 2 into 2 Ohms

600W x 1 into 4 Ohms bridged

I can't remember what DC input voltage PPIs were rated for but I'm thinking it is either 12.xV or 13.8V. Also these amps were underrated and I would guess the anniversary versions would have been the best of them (hand picked or something perhaps). So I'm guessing you'll probably be seeing over 800W from it in reality.

$150 sounds like a good deal and that would even be just be for the amp alone. The fact that you also got four 10" W3s makes it all that much better a deal!

Those numbers are correct. The manual doesn't give an input voltage for the rated specs. The Power Class amps have a regulated power supply so it really doesn't matter. Some say the 2150 was one of the most under rated of the Power Class amps. I have no idea if there is any truth to that. All of them were very under rated by todays standards. You got a **** good deal if you got all of that for 150 bucks. I have two gray 2150s that have spent most of their lives in original boxes and I wouldn't sell either of them for that. As far as a manual goes, call PPI. You may be able to download a manual. If they can't help let me know. I have the manuals for mine and could make a copy for you.

i had the same problem with my pc2350. on a side note, this is the single best amp i've ever owned. you will love it. they do pull alot more amps than a class d from your electrical system, so expect to do some upgrades to your stock electrical. that is one of the best deals i've heard of in a long time. good find.

well i hooked up the four jl's to my american bass sq800.... it bumps but not like 4 10's should...

do you really think the PPI will bumb em a little harder??

and should i hold on to the PPI or sale it???

Ok guys i'm gonna throw my .02 in here even though some of you may not like it. None of the old school PPI amps ( AM, Pro- Mos, Art Series, PC) were underrated...they almost always put out right at or a little over rated power. That being said, imo they are some of the best amps for SQ you can find. Power supplies are very tightly regulated on all except for the Pro-Mos (someone correct me if I am wrong, working soley on memory here) which were not and also were the only ones stable below 2 ohms stereo and 4 ohms bridged. Btw that was a pretty decent deal on some good gear. If you wish to keep that amp for a long period of time do not run it below 4 ohms bridged.

There were also a few Pro Art Series made that would do two ohms bridged. Also the sub channels on the AX606s and the Power Class Pro 650 and the Pro 6800. Of course, these all basicly used later versions of the Pro Mos for the sub channel. And possibly the F1.

my pc2350 is rated at 1400 @ 4 ohms bridged. car toys tested it and they have it at 1580 rms. pretty underrated if you ask me.

That's not a whole lot compared to what is typically known as an underrated amp. In all reality, at those power levels an extra 180 watts isnt' going to even be audible. In effect what that works out to is an extra 45 watts/channel in 4 ohm stereo mode....just about usual for these amps, a far cry from the the cheater amps of the day. Not trying to take anything away from your ampp at all, I am a die hard certified PPI nut and have owned every series of amp they have produced from the Arts and AMs down to the Sedona's (anybody remember those?) Again my point is, at 1400 watts running subs, an extra 180 would hardly even show up on the meter, let alone to your ears. If it weren't for all the **** current they pull, I would have that very same amp running my Avalanche. I ran my kick panels for quite a while on my Art 600.2....WOW! Loud and Clean is all I can say, my favorite amp to date.

i see your point. i defend my amp at any cost:) there are more powerful amps for sure, but i have never had a better one than this one. if it were a woman, i'd stab anyone in the eye with a pencil for talking down on it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif
