Preamp Outputs Question

So I'm at a crossroad right now. I can either use my current headunit that have 2 pairs of 2v preamp outputs or I can upgrade and get a new headunit with 3 pairs of 4v preamp outputs. Currently I'm using a Y splitter to connect my speakers to my 4 channel amp and the other pair of RCAs is going to my sub amp. Will switching to the 3 pars of 4v preamps give me any significant benefits?

The most obvious benefit is being able to control sub level from the HU independantly from the rears. Beyond that we'd need to know the models you're talking about.

Yes..your doubling you voltage. ..no using a "y"....and gaining a sub out...I'd do it...
