preamp conversion box hookup

My husband is trying to hook up the preamp box and we don't know which wires connect to which on the stereo. It's the stock stereo for a 1996 pontiac sunfire. Help!!

Did the converter come with wiring instructions? Im also assuming this is a LOC (Line Output Converter) since it is a stock h/u and you prolly want Preamp outs as well. Look on the converter for any indications of like speaker inputs. It might say something like left rear speaker + -. If that is the case just splice into the speakers wires and run them to the wires provided. Allthough with it being a factory h/u you might have problems finding the polarity of the wires. If you do then take the connector on the speaker off and look for any markings of where the connector connects to the speaker of a + and a - sign. Then look at the connector and that will tell you which wire is + and -. Hope that helps.

If it is in fact a problem with figuring out what wire is what, then go to http://www.installdr.com . You'll be able to find the wiring diagram for your car.... Good luck
