Pre-fab box question

Are there any good tutorials online for building a box? I guess it would make me feel accomplished if I did build one.. is there any cutting of wood involved?

Another thing.. If I do buy a pre-fab box somewhere, do they come with the screws to screw the subs in? My Type R's didn't come with screws.. I guess I can just buy them from Home Depot or something? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

And another question: This may be the dumbest of all, but what can you expect from a car audio newbie. Don't I need to buy wiring to connect both my actual subs to the connection ports on the outside of the box? Sorry. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

Thanks guys.

obvously there is gonna be some wood cutting involved as you can't mount subs to a 4x8 sheet of wood and call it a box. first get a 4x8 sheet of mdf (medium density fiberboard) home depot can cut the would for you. the one by me does pretty good cuts but i have heard that they aren't too good. you'll need some 1.5"-2" wood screws and some wood glue. also some 100% silicone. the next is pretty much gluing and screwing the sides together. also on the inside you can run a bead of silicone along all the corners. next drill a hole in the box to slip your speaker wire through if choose not to use terminal cups. make sure to put silicone all the way around the opening for the speaker wire. next cut out your speaker holes. i usually draw a 12x12 box (the size of the sub) and inside that box i center a nail with a piece of string the radius of the sub with a pencil attached to the othe end and draw a circle. i usually use a jigsaw to cut out the circle. i try to stay inside the line then i can just sand it down so my sub fits in nice and snug. and ther you have a sub box. now go to home depot and get your supplies and pick up a 6 pack on the way back and get working. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
