ppi pcx-2400 and ppi pcx-480

Any thoughts on these amps? I have heard good things and found someone locally selling them. I couldnt find much info on how much they are worth could anyone help me out with that. One is a new pcx-2400 and the other is a used pcx-480. I want to run two xtant x12s with the pcx-2400 and cdt cl-61 and cerwin vega v-mag 693 with the pcx-480.

nothing too important... but i have the PPI PCX4125 - basically the same as yours but more power per channel - and I really like it a lot. Gives me no problems, and, I've even been running my subwoofer off of the rear channels.

A couple people may say that the PCX line is shifty because they weren't made by Directed, but mine had a giant Directed sticker on the box and bottom of the amp so I'm not completely sure.

them ppi amps are good sthuff.

i think that when DEI bought out PPI, they still had an assload of those boards and sinks, so they strapped them with a new name (PCX) threw on a new silkscreen, maybe changed them a LITTLE and sold them until they were gone.

PC > PCX but whatever. still solid performers, check ebay for the prices on them. theres usually some floating around.

i found some small sites online selling the pcx-2400 for 800 new and the pcx-480 for 450 new or something like that. Do you think that sounds about right?

No.

I bought my 4125 (which is rated 45 watts more per channel if i remember correctly) for $386 shipped. You should look on Ebay for a general price to look for.

well on ebay the 2400 is going for 580 with 14 hours left. The pcx-480 might have been going for 350 on sites I dont rememeber exactly. I was offered 420 for the 2400 and 190 for the 480.

if it suits your power requirements, go with the 480. if you only need to power two speakers with it, bridge two of the channels and see what happens there. I think that'd be 160RMS but I'm not sure.

Well IMO $190 is a good price. Try for around $175

yea. tell him they are used, no warranty, old, and might not be in perfect working condition.

they are NOT new, they are almost definatly used.

he says that the pcx-2400 has never been used and has warrantys didnt really believe it. im going to try to work him down a bit more.

OMG, around $300 shipped for these things? I paid $90 for my PCX 280.

good stuff - but i HIGHLY doubt they are warrantied with directed (anything else is useless because they are discontinued)
