Powering 2 12" Alpine Type R's

I have two Alpine Type R's in the mail from ikesound.com. Magnolia Hi-Fi has pretty much convinced me that the best amp to power them (that's in my price-range) is a 500W Alpine mono-block amp. I am most impressed by its sound and push on the subs. However, it's $500 retail. Do you think that would be a good buy? What else would be a good buy that would offer me good SQ and SPL in a decent blend that's $500 or less? I appreciate all comments, except those made by player haters.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

Dude for 500$ or less there are plenty of other amps to choose from.....you could get a jbl bp 1200.1 for 285$ you could get 2 infinity betadigi 100 for 100$ each...the list goes on..

I'm powering one Type R with a JBL600.1. The JBL amps are a good buy for a cheaper price.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hey Man for the money I would probably try the infinity betadigi 100 amp...its 100x2 at 4ohms, 200x2 at 2ohms and 400x1 at 4ohms....the amp retails for 600$, but I know where you can pick them up for 100$ each?? 1 to each alpine type-r would probably slam pretty hard!!

that is a good idea, I feel that if you have a chance and the money and the current go one amp per Sub, but I have seen those amps all over the place but never seen them in action, but Infinity has always been great equipment

hell yea they are nice power Im gonna get one for my kappa speakers, because I got a friend with one pushing 2 6x9 kappas and they are crystal clear and great sq!!!! Decent bass also!
