Powerbass wiring

I have a Fi Bl 12 D1. I am currently running it at 2 ohms on a Powerbass ASA1500.1 amp. I was wondering if I could possibly run my sub at .5 ohms on this amp? It seems like a stable enough amp, but I didn't know if I could run it at .5 ohms.

I had the ASA 2000.1 and ran it @ .5 daily with no problems.

So what kind of power do you think I would get out of it at .5 ohms? And do you think the Bl would take it if I set the gains right? It's 1500 rms at 1 ohm btw.

When I clamped my 2k I got 2007 @ 1.4 after box rise. IDK if the BL will take 1500 sorry.

Well, anything would be better than what I'm running now which is 750. But if I set my gains to about 1400 rms with a dmm, would it be fine to wire it to .5 ohms?

Ok. Thanks a bunch. I just wasn't sure if the amp would be stable. It's really loud the way it is now. I'm probably 2 nd loudest in my town, with the loudest being a kid with 4 12w7. I haven't gotten metered yet, but I think I might be hitting about a 138-140. How much louder will it be once I get it rewired?

Ok. Well, I just wanted to make sure my amp would be stable at .5 ohms.

Now, when I use the formula for setting gains [ sqrt(ohms*rms) ] what do I use for rms, since my amp isn't rated for .5 ohms? Since I will be running it at .5 ohms and I'll say it puts out twice the power, so 3000, and the Bl will probably only handle 1500, would I take the sqrt(.5*1500) which is 27.37 volts? Or would I just take the full power sqrt(.5*3000) which is 38.73 volts?
