power wire?

ok so one of my buddies was telling me the other day he used some leftover power wire to wire his sub in the box:wow: some cheap 5 awg from wally mart, now unless i missed something along the way power wire shouldnt be used correct???

if you using 12 awg , 14 , 16 , 18 than yes

i need thicker than that so 10 & 8 awg i get power wire and use that

not really.....regular speaker wire is like 20 gauge? I would use 16-12 gauge personally, but w/e

what in your mind makes it different from power wire except the print on the insulation and packaging?

i might try using 4 awg power wire with red and black jacket on my next harness from amp to driver

with 4 awg slimed down to 8 awg reducer

red jacket SQ 8 awg

better(thicker) path for the signal to travel over less resistance and it looks ****in awesome with that thick of a wire for speakers especially when ran near 0awg power wire 12awg speaker wire looks pathetic:laugh://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
