power wire VS speaker wire

I know this is a noob question...

But are they the same?

Can i use 8 awg power wire to wire my subs? or do i have to use "speaker wires"?

Speaker wire is just a term for 14, 16, or 18 guage wire usually used on component speakers in a normal car system. It's usually the same copper core as 8, 4 or 2 guage wire so you're fine to wire up the subs with the largest wire they accept.

wire is wire . i have 8 awg going from my amps to the box but on the inside i used 12 awg.

For the vast majority of us, anything over 12ga speaker wire is overkill to the point of seeing no positive improvement other than aesthetics.
