power wire to fuse holder

How exactly do you connect the power wire into the fuse holder? Do you basically put the bare stripped wire into the fuse holder or do you put something on the end of the wire and insert it into the fuse holder ends.

generally #1...put stripped wire into hole in fuse holder and screw it down
