Power wire after distro. block

I am running 1/0 gauge power wire under the carpet, down the center console. With the thick 1/0 wire, it looks like my carpet has a spine. . . Would there be a problem putting the distrobution block under the center console and then running about 5' of the (2) 4 gauge power wires I'll need? Or, is it better to just deal with the spine and have the shortest length possible? Thanks.

Ahhh, yes! Thanks, I didn't even think about that. . . I think I'm gunna do it. I don't plan on messing around with re-running power wires and all that petty b.s. after i run it right the first time.

It can be a problem. You need to let us know the RMS wattage you plan on running on those 2 4g lengths. The component amp won't be an issue. Your sub amp may.

And you can always run the 1/0 on the underside of your vehicle instead of under the carpet and drill into your wheel well with a bushing/grommet.

For the subs, I am running (2) 13W6Vs's off a 1000/1.

For the fronts, I am running a set of Profi CS 265's off either a Kicker ZX350.2 or a JL 300/4 - I don't know which one yet(I have a post in the Amp section about that).

I don't really want to run it under the car, I'm not dissmissing the option, just hoping it don't come down to that.

At 1000 watts under a 12.5 voltage (common voltage when playing a heavy bass note) with 80% efficiency, your sub amp would use about 100 amps max. 4g can technically handle 100amps, but you're on the upper end of its limit and may reak havoc on your voltage under load due to high resistance (basically cause your battery/alt to have to work harder). But at 4-5 feet it may not be an issue.

Only way to truly know is try and watch your voltage closely. Definitely run a fused distro block. Those runs of 4g need about 125amp fuse on them whereas the 1/0 can use 250-350.
