Power Shuts off to amps and other components HELP!!

Setup:

  • 2 amps
  • 1 carputer power supply
  • 1/0awg ran from the front to back with a distro block and fused.
  • remote wire with relay
  • stock battery
  • 110amp alt i think. its the factory alt on a 05 v6 accord
  • Big 3 with 1/0awg

Problem:

  • Every now and then my 2 amps and my carputer power supply shuts off. Car remains on, radio everything else remains on.

FACTS:

  • ALL WIRING AND CONNECTIONS HAVE BEEN DOUBLE CHECKED
  • This has happened when the car was moving and when the car was idle or even upon ignition.
  • For some reason, power going to the rear shuts off and turns back on after maybe 5-10 mins.
  • Remote wire (before the relay) remained hot while the amps and power supply was shut off.
  • Battery has been tested with multimeter and passed with flying colors.

Anying have an idea what can be causing this?

whoops, sorry i already have big three. See the thing is i tested the battery when i had everything on and had the volume on full tilt. the voltage never dropped low enough. IT was always above 12.8 (i actually forgot the exact reading but i know that when i tested it to make sure it wasnt the battery, the readings were fine.)

Plus, this has happened when the volume was pretty low and no where near full tilt.

Im pretty sure it isnt due to voltage drops... my headlight dont EVER dim on long bassy notes and my voltage readings seem normal on my battery when the car is off, idle, and full tilt.

How long does it shut off for?

Sounds like it might be related to the remote wire, assuming this is used to power your carputer. I doubt all 3 things would shut off at the exact time if it was a voltage drop issue.

maybe 5 mins or so.

and yes there is 1 remote wire that is powering all three things. however the remote wire has a relay on it and i have checked the remote wire when eveyrthing is off and it was hot.

can anyone chime in? i dont know what can be causing this. Is it possible there is a power surge or something? I have tested the battery voltage and it seemed fine but could it still cause problems even if the voltage tested fine?

ive never had slow cranking or headlight dimming so i dont know what can cause this. i have tripled checked all connections im out of things to check and try.

Hot temperature wise or hot as in still having voltage?

I'm kinda thinking that the relay is the problem. I'd try swapping it out with another one if you can

did you check the remote before and after the relay? i just posted the EXACT same problem, last night it audibly clicked and hasnt cut back off since. still going to a higher out alt, but my immediate prob was that relay( 12V+ on the radio side, not on amp side).

ok, i think i routed the problem.

i was finally able to test the main power wire going to the rear and it had some seroiusly low voltage. it was only like 1-3volts. The remote wire is fine, it had a consistant 13.9v before the relay but after the relay it was 1-3v since its powered from the battery.

anyways, i went unde the hood and tested the voltage before and after the fuse and it was at 13.9-14v before the fuse but right after it, it was again 1-3v. so yes, the problem was the fuse... i actually saw some sparks coming from it...( very minor) I believe the fuse was not tightly screw in or something.... also, on the edge it had minor burnt spot on it... like on the very edge but its like the diamater or a pencil point.

so yea, i unscrewed the fuse out and put it back in and tightened it down all the way so hopefully this fixed my problem.
