Power Problem

i Have a sony head unit where all the wires are hooked up right, but it wont turn i have the red power source hooked up to a pink wire that goes to a fuse on the side but wont turn on im mad confused i think its right or is it? why wont it turn on?

this is where a digital multi-meter (DMM) is required to verify voltage at the red ignition wire, yellow battery wire, and black ground wire. all three are required for the head unit to turn on. measuring voltage will also check the fusing.

if any of the speaker wires are shorted, it might not turn on.

did you use a wiring harness? those make the job 50x easier. + some crimps or butt end connectors.

its because its a sony. ive only seen 3 HUs fail and they were all sony.

Try hooking the 12v power and the ignition wire from the back of the headunit to the illumination wire off the wiring harness.
