Power keeps cutting out to amp

Needs model numbers on the amp and subs if possible. And what brand amp kit is it? Or better yet, what size inline fuse did it come with? And gains should NOT be all the way up.....that could be a big issue.

rockford fosgate 1800 soundstream 15's (2) the wiring kit was for 2000 watts not sure on the batt or the alt. we adjusted the gains all the way as usual ill see if I can figure out the others Thanks

i meant at all different levels duh not all the way up

how is your ground and connections?... maybe you need to move the ground.... also check it the remote is still connected or pinched or somthing

We got it figured out the fuse on the power cable to the amp is bad. It looks ok but when we put the test light on the side nearest the amp there was nothing. So to check it we wraped some foil around it and hooked it back up. And no we did not leave it like that. Going to get a fuse today. Not that it really matters cuz there is six inches of fu#$ing snow on the ground and the car has no heater or wiper motor. LOL Thanks to everyone that actually tried to help.

Yeah no problem...you should really buy a multimeter though, it would have saved you a lot of hassle. Checking the voltages like we said would have pointed to the fuse in the first place.

Yeah no problem. It's just generally a good tool to have. You can check the voltage on batteries (to see if they're dead or not). Check voltages on any kind of wires to see if they're live or not. Tons of uses, lol.
