Some of you have seen my other thread on Alpine 5 1/4 Type-R's. A few of the VIPmembers swayed my opinion on them, and I think I'm gonna go with infinities of the model number above. Right now I have two amps, one per sub, two Alpine MRD-M300s and a Lightning Audio Cap. What amps can I get to power my infinity 5 1/4's sufficiently? Is there any danger on power capacity? I drive a 93 Ford Explorer. Thanks for all the help.

so then I would just buy a pair of these bad boys, then put them in some fiberglass enclosures somewhere in the cabin of my explorer? Where would these be placed? And will that be enough sound for my whole car?

wait, rethinking that, I asked the wrong question. So getting one pair of Infinity Kappa Comps would be enough of the high-end stuff, then I could get some 6 x 9's or something for the back? What would you suggest?

oh **** that's awesome. Isn't fiberglass expensive to pay someone to do? I have stock locations for 6x8's all around in my explorer. what do I do with them when I put speakers in different locations, instead?

oh, ok. cool. That helps a lot. Will people not want to ride in the back due to poor sound quality or will it be that well-balanced? And what amp should i power the front speakers with?

can I bridge my head unit's amp to put the power from 2 speakers to each of my rear speakers? since mine is 40 x 4, can I, for instance, put 80W to each rear speaker by bridging it? And also, if i get that amp, will I be embarrassed when I pay some car audio company to install it?

I have an Alpine CDM-7854. It's not that I don't have time. I have no idea how to install this ****. The embarrassment would come in if I brought a shitty amp into Magnolia Hi-Fi. Will they laugh>

alright, sweet. Ok, I'm done on questions for now. Thanks a hell of a lot for all your help, dude. I'm definitely consulting you for further help. People like you are the reason so many of us young teenagers don't have shitty systems. Ok, I'm done.

This guy at magnolia hi-fi told me he thinks I should get Diamond 5 1/4 comps in the front and some 5 1/4 coax diamonds in the back. The front ones are gonna be M3s, not M6s, and the ones in the back will be low-line diamonds as well. Does that sound like an ok plan?

I have always like the Kappas. One thing I have found though is there are a little flat with just HU power. Put a good solid 35 watts or so to them and they really come alive. They like being driven with an outboard amplifier.
