Power difference to ear question

Im not talking about numbers on the TL, just want to know how much of a difference to the ear about 2000w to 3000w will be.

The other issue involved is that simply adding power doesn't always increase SPL in a linear fashion...(or is it "arithmetic"? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif) By the time you're sending a good bit of power to the coil, you're likely in or near the range where power compression will keep you from getting the same kind of gains out of it that you would at lower power levels.

Impossible to know without knowing what drivers we're talking about, but something to keep in mind.

Treo SSX 15" rated for 2500w daily. its underrated and I doubt I was giving it 2000w and it was a clipped siginal. GOing with 3000w

haha im going from about 1300 on an 18 to 4k on 2 15s and its been over 4 months since i had a system i sat in on the car for 2 12 inch lightning audio 12s i built a box for and kinda hurt my ears ive been resensitized lol.
jump like that will **** your ears six ways from sunday

The difference to the ear is all in the ear of the beholder. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Srsly, I've met people who couldn't hear the difference between 140db and 150db.

Hmm running both at one ohm? Goin from 2400 to 3000? With all other variables stayin the same (same enclusure, same car, subs ect). Thats only a 25% gain itll put up better dbs but i dont think itll be too much of a difference to the ear

Yes, 200% increase in wattage not dbs. Its impossible to tell exactly how much u will increase in decibels until you measure it with a TL or the like. What im getting at is a 200% increase in power is enough to be audiably noticeable
I think u need to go back to high school and take a math class...

You did TWO kinds of math right here, one is right one is wrong. 600 is 25% of 2400, thus going from 2400 + 600 = 3000 thats right, a 25% increase.

1000 of 1000 is 100%. going from 1000 + 1000 = 2000 is NOT a 200% increase, just a 100% increase. 200% increase would be 3000. Please remind me to NEVER hire you as an accountant.
