Im planning on purchasing some new subs eventually and the amp im looking at is 4000 watts (lanzar MXA282)... im not sure how it will perform in my car i own a 91 mustang lx and as far as i kno the stock alternator generates about 75 amps... i was wondering what would be the best way to go (since im kind of on a small budget) with a power cap or seperate batterys or do i even need them at all...? I've seen batterys that claim they can do the work of 200 1 farad power caps would this be the best way to go or should i just purchase a 5.0 farad power cap? any info would be great thanks!

dude... hhaha

dont get caps.. they do absolutely nothing for ur system.. if anything get more batteries... but u are going to need to get a bigger alternator and do the big 3 with 4000 watts RMS!!!!!!!!!!

DUDE! on your eletrical you are not going to be able to see more than 2k and that amp cannot take any less than a 2 ohm load. ..i doubt youll see more than 1500 if not less than 1k of rms from that amp. just get Better batteries and big 3 YOU ARE GOOD!

That amp = noob buy.

Your electrical system = Not enough to push more than 1K watts.

Your solution = Big 3 upgrade, rewind alt or buy a HO alt, plus upgrade your stock battery.
