Power Acoustik/Kole Audio 5500d testing!

Only a 1v drop.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
what would he possibly gain from lying about this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

maybe power acoustic is paying him to poast up numbers saying their amp is overrated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I don't have anything to gain from this. I just read a couple of other threads on here about how people were wondering about these amps. Just thought I'd share my results. Believe them or not, I don't really care, just trying to help.

I'm not calling him a liar.I am just saying that the voltage drop of only 1v on just 1 battery seems a little off.

wtf?

The last test I did, that I only had a 1 volt drop, was using 3 - fully charged powermaster D1000 16volt batteries. NOT only one. Sorry if I confused anyone. I'm working on 12/14 volt testing, I'm just trying to get a couple of good 12v batteries to use. Also for the record all my testing was done with the Kole Audio PHANATIK Series 5500D amp. Not the QX or the KX series. The qx and kx 5500D's are not as strong as the Phanatik 5500D. The a3000db is stronger then the qx and kx 5500d's.

Ok here is some 12 volt testing. I couldn't get any real 12volt batteries, so I just tested it with the stock pepboys battery under the hood. Car running (stock 60 amp alternator)voltage starting at 13.19 volts and dropping to 10 volts the amp made 1122 watts with a 1.03 impedance rise.

I did a little more testing with the Kole Audio Phanatik PH1-5500D using a better 12 volt power supply(Power Master d3100). With the voltage starting at 14.2 volts and dropping to 11.5 volts, the amp made 2064 watts. This was at a 1.12 impedance rise.

I know this is a bit old. I noticed the imp came out to 1.12. what was it wired at? 1 or .5

I was told by the tech over at power acoustik that the Power Acousitk BAMF 5500d and the Kole Audio Phanatik 5500d are the same amps. Both carry 5-40 amp fuses and the specs are the same on paper. I did some testing in my car using the Kole Audio 5500d, here are the results..........................................
Voltage drop after 5 seconds - AC Volts - Amps - Imp Rise - Watts

15.91 - 57- 20- 2.85- 1140

15.0 - 54- 42- 1.28- 2268

15.44 - 55 - 45- 1.22- 2475

The first two tests were done using 1 Power Master 16 volt battery, and the last test was with two Power Master 16 volt batteries. The batteries are the power master S1000's. It doesn't put out the rated power, but still not bad for a budget amp. I also tested it against power acoustik's well known a3000db, and the kole 5500 is definately stonger. One big difference between the a3000db and the 5500d is that the 5500d will take up to 18.2 volts before going into protect and the a3000db will go into protect at 17.2 volts. I'll do some 12volt testing and post results later. Just thought I'd share my results for those that were wondering like me.
Sorry there again I know old but how much stronger was it than the a3000db
