Post your tricks and tips to the termlab.

Buy a termlab..........................there is no magic trick that work best for all set-ups. Trial and error and keep a log to note gains and losses from changes.

As it says and also you can include Tips for spl in general that have hurt/helped you. I Know this is a common question and I think it would be cool to have a dedicated post to it. I have noticed over time (as well I am sure a lot of you little things affect the termlab in great lengths.
I can start

1. When I put two small 45's in the box didn't change the volume ANY but gained 1 db on the termlab

2. I know a lot of people actually gain a significant amount when disconnecting the door speakings (I guess weird cross waves which cause cancellations and we all know the termlab DONT LIKE CANCELLATION!!) And we are talking about in excess of a DB

3.Box placement for some reason affects the termlab greatly in some setups. up to 4 to 5 db although sound wise makes no difference .

4. Termlabs love aero ports lol or perhaps all SPL for that matter, just have experience with termlab.

5. OH !!! Amplifier gain matching if running multiple amps. If you don't have your amps aligned with a digital multi meter there are good chances the amps are off a good amount. And believe it or not this can make loads of difference on the termlab. I know at one show I gain matched a guys amp at a meca show last year. He went up 2.3 DB I believe. He was pretty surprised because didn't sound any different before I gain matched.

If I think of anymore I will post. Come on everybody be good sports... Post some of the things you have found as well

Please don't make me do a triangular prism area and make you realize that putting anything inside of the box changes the volume. You should have said, "Doesn't change the volume enough to be noticeable."

I guess I should have been more specific........ I meant to the ear.Not cubic feet lol smart azz lol

*Put fans inside your box to help push the air out the ports

*Concrete your car

*Turn on every single accessory in your car when you burp (it turns the alternator on)

*Turn your gain all the way up

*Buy a PWK box

*Run a bunch of power without upgrading your electrical system

*Test with a Boomstick

Instead of tips ill give you the samer advice that was given to me.

Get a freakin notebook, and jot down everything.....time, humidity if you can, temp if you can, seat position, power, volume knob, everything...
