Ok the local shop here has agreed to hook me up with some free shyt if put their logo (which is actually pretty cool) in my car and attend some local shows. The free part will come in the way of a sweet trick install and the headunit. I have to purchase the rest of the equipment from them at discounted pricing...**ck retail. So anyways, they are authorized JL, Alpine, Eclipse, Memphis dealers. My choices were 2 12" W7's, with 2 new Alpine PDX 1000watt amps, 2 sets of JL ZR 525 comps and a Alpine PDX 4.150 amp.

Any suggestions? Oh yeah , the headunit will be the Alpine IVA-W200 double din with Pulsetouch

For subs I'd look into the 8000 series Eclipse with the LMT(TCSounds) build. Those are some very nice subs. I'd rock those over the dub7's.

thanks for the feedback..altho i'm not crazy about eclipse myself. i just called them and they said those were special order subs and they would rather i do shelf item stuff

Weird, the JL sells itself and you'd be doing their fronstage. You'd figure they'd want exposure of their other lines.

Exactly.

You are doing their advertising for them with the commitments you'd owe them. Discounted pricing?!? Psssst! They are not coming out of pocket to help you, believe that. They have more to win in this situation than you do.

Tell them its your car, you have no prob working in this 'arrangement' and repping the shop, but you'd like to design the system your way. Sounds fair to me .

its not really that simple.....since they are giving me for free a $1100 headunit plus about $1000 worth of install/accessories, they do have some say so in what i get. Also, dealer pricing is awesome and they are extending me those prices in the understanding that i pick items that are readily available in their store. Honestly, they don't do an outstanding amount of car audio anymore and are trying to reach out to the car audio enthusiasts. Even with the dub 7's, i feel that will be an awesome system. The only other real choices i had were JL subs, type r's, memphis subs (excluding the big spl monsters) and two styles of eclipse. I forgot they also carry rockford but they are hardly worth mentioning to me.

lol....i did mention that i am paying some money for this stuff right? j/k i just hate rockford anymore. i had a bad experience with their equipment a few years back and they have the worst customer service of any brand that i've ever dealt with.

Sounds like a sweet setup IMO. Does this dealer carry the H701? If so, get that also if you can and you'll be set.
