Possible Damage to Speakers?

go to the audio setup on your head unit where you adjust your subwoofer level n ish...

ok now go through the settings until you run into HPF or LPF...go to the high pass filter (HPF) and turn it on to 80-120hz...after you do that tell us if it is still happening

He's got his amp on high pass around the correct hz.

Speakers shouldn't be making that noise unless the gain is too high or they are damaged.

Either way he won't be able to tell unless he messes with the gain or pulls a speaker to visually inspect. He doesn't sound like he has the know how to do that.

Bring it back to whoever installed it dude. Tell them you didn't touch a thing because they will try to blame you for the damage if there is any.

In your honest opinion, do you think they are damaged?

This def wasn't their fault. I really cranked my volume by accident.... almost to the max.

I'm sick of taking my car to them. We're going on my 6th time now.

What about my low pass? is 30hz good?

I'm sick of this bullshit. Every **** day it is a new problem with my car. WASTE of money

BTW.. my gain is a lil below halfway to 6

I guess I have to keep my volume down for now on. The caronlinestereo place said it could take 4-8 weeks to get a replacement if the problem is under warranty. **** that

Since that switch is on High. Only the HPF applies.

You have a passive component setup.

I can't really tell if your speakers are damaged without being there. You say it only happens on those songs? That's it?

It may be your fault you turned it up too high, but whoever installed it should have told you what you could turn it up too or what not to do.

Basically they should have, excuse the term, idiot proofed it to save themselves repeat visits.

Ok well... it WAS those songs, but now I have a Korn song that made the noise too. Anything with really loud bass makes my mids do the sound. Why are my **** mids playing the sub noises... When I turn off my sub all the way, you can hear the mids make the same freqs but at a much lower volume

yea but even so he should still have his head unit HPF set....if i had my head unit HPF off it would play lower notes than if i actually had it on...doesnt hurt to try now does it?
