Possible box size for two 8" Memphis MClass drivers

I'm going for a more SQ oriented sub stage this time around. First question, can I get good quality output with a ported enclosure, or should I stay sealed? And if so, what size and tuning would be decent, if I were to go ported. I'm doing two chambers in the box. I definitely still want it to get loud, but I don't want the commonly heard "boomy" type of bass from most ported enclosures.

So I guess alot of building and testing with different tuning is the best way to go. I'm just somebody has an idea of a certain hz range I should stay within.

lower tuning usually brings about a flat response up top, but highlights the lows.

I was guestimating 1.8 @ 36hz from pervious builds.

might be a little strong in the middle, aim a little lower IMO to about 33Hz

Sounds decent. I'll give it a shot. I'm going to build a sealed box also to test both, doing .8cuft per chamber on that.
