if the port size is bigger, then the port length wont be as long as a small sized port size ritght?, does that affect to sound?

more port area and a shorter port means higher tuning, less port area and a longer port means lower tuning.

I calculated --

a box tuned at 26hz, with 72sq inch of port, with 4cu.ft net, must have port length of 7inch, is that correct?

no i dont think thats correct, but i dont know how to calculate boxes it just sounds way to short.

but id like to know whats the benefit of having big sized port instead of small one?

It can be sub dependant, but not usually.. The only thing i can see is port noise.. And with a port as big as that i doubt you'll see any.. Seems like a small box for that sub

well, they recommend 3.5 net tuned @28hz, I guess 4 would be perfect, no?

I want it LOUD on the LOW END mostly and mainly, cuz I play lot of music with low end, 25-30-35-40 hz range, would that box suit me?

that box would be fine.. 56^2 in port .. But i dont know what music you listen to but even most low rap is not below 35

if you want great low end you can build a big sealed box and sacrifice a little bit of output.

I think he's got that but hes just asking if there is say a difference from haveing a port thats 2x14 tuned to 26 hz, as opposed as a port thats 4x14 tuned to 26 hz.. Other than the port length getting longer .. Is there any advantage to having more port area.. Right?

ya thats wut i meant! is there a difference in the sound? is it louder? more peaky?
