Portland Trail Blazers

worst professional sports franchise in the world.

they passed up on Michael Jordan, the g.o.a.t., for Sam Bowie....then 25 years later they do it again & draft Greg Oden over Kevin Durant. I mean, seriously.

they went with Bowie over Jordan because they had a rising star in Drexler at the 2, somewhat understandable. somewhat, Jordan goes down as the greatest b-ball player of all-time & Bowie has a injury plagued career. but then 25 years later you do it again.

really? everyone around the league is saying Durant will be a star, & he is--2-3 yrs from now he'll be the #1 player in the world. the city of Portland says they want Durant, putting up billboards & begging ownership to pick him over Oden. Greg Oden already as prone to injury, he sustained a major knee injury between high school & college. & for some reason they still draft him over Durant. unbelievable.

he gets hurt midway through his first year & has surgery, then his second year he misses several more games with injuries. last year he didn't play a single game due to the previous injury which required another injury. now less than 3 weeks into this season he sustains another season ending knee injury which will require surgery.

meanwhile Kevin Durant is a rising superstar in Ok. City & is the most prolific scorer in the NBA. he is already an all-star & will soon be the biggest star in the league. last year he was an all-star & led the league in scoring, he has his team on the rise.

I just can't believe a franchise that went through the same thing, missing on the greatest of all-time, would do it again. passing up a star in the making for an injury prone big man. I feel sorry for the fans of Portland.

/rant.........flame on fegs....

i think the bowie pick was more understandable as they did have Drexler, he did end up being one of the all time greats...The Durant pick was more of a waste in my opinion. Anyone with half a brain who watched college that year KNEW that Durant was better then Oden. Especially with the injury concerns....

How about Detroit drafting Darko Milicic ahead of Wade and Anthony with the reasons that they drafted Prince they year before so they didnt need another wing man..FAIL..and further, if they wanted a big man they should have taken Bosh...

that particular draft 1-James Cle, 2-Darko Det, 3-Anthony Den, 4- Bosh Tor, 5- Wade Mia

D Wade should have been taken 2nd, so Denver & Toronto deserve some of the blame, not just Detroit.

I cant honestly say that Wade is better then Melo..who would I want on my team if forced? Probley Wade because of his killer instinct late in games. I would easily take wade over Bosh..but regardless, every player mentioned has multiple all star apperances and Darko has like a 5 ppg career avg

Melo plays no defense, is a prima donna, selfish, & shoots too much. he is one of the top 3 scorers in the NBA along with Durant & Bryant, but I wouldn't build a team around him. Wade is a super star, & has a title.

Melo has a college title, although that is different. Ironically Melo is a much better player under the international rules...And of all these players from that draft, I think Durant will be better then them all if he becomes a solid defender, which he easily has the talent to do

NCAA title

i think Bron shoulda stuck with Football...Imagine some morbid cross of Randy Moss, T.O and Adrian Peterson..that would be Bron as a football player
i agree with that! With his size and speed no one could cover him at TE and he would be a hell of a DE
