porting my trunk?

Stats in sig...

I have 3 10's in a ported box in my accord's trunk. Of course I can pull the seats down and fold my amp rack down to create and open space between the subs and my cabin, but that isn't practical. On my rear dash, the 3rd stop light (in the window) it rattles really bad so I am removing it. I was wondering how effective it would be to drill out like an 8" hole between my 6x9's to act as a port for the subs in the trunk....

Not as effective as lowering your seat...
I completely understand that. But driving around with rear seat down isn't practical since I usually have gear and stuff in the back seat or have people back there. While my car only has 60k miles, I am planning on driving it into the ground, so I dont mind cutting around on it in ways that are going to make it a weird resale... I was thinking about just straight up cutting a big hole in my rear deck... of course I would cover it with some speaker grill cover...
