Ported Vs Vented

I used the search and could only fine a ported vs sealed.. So i know that ported and vented are ment to get louder over than a sealed.

But why go Ported instead of vented and vice versa

ooooh so you meant aero port over slot port ? had a slot port a while back with 2 10's off 600 watts and now have 1 12'' off 600 watts but have an a 4'' aero port and its a lot louder , but its also a better designed and built box

From what I've read...

Some SPL competitors see db gains when using the flared round ports...due to more efficient air flow?

I've always used slot ports...

They work for me and I don't feel like paying $12 for flared port...
