Ported Box

Hi There... I am currently ordering my subwoofer : JL AUDIO 12w3v2-D4

Since shipping takes long to Canda, I have plenty of time considering my ported box

As you all know I want a ported box for my sub. The recommanded frequency and ported box volume for the sub are 30hz and 1.75cu.ft. respectively. I did some rough calculus and I ended with something like : port lenght = 10in long and 3in as for the diameter. I was wondering if I did things right.

1st : do you think putting a 12w3v2-D4 in a ported box is fine?

2nd : do you find those box specs right?

3rd : whats the right formula for frequecy / port lenght / port radius?

Yes, just make sure you find one that is tuned to the specifications of the sub.

2nd : do you find those box specs right?

well they arent exact,but with a 30hz tuned port means= low deep bass

3rd : whats the right formula for frequecy / port lenght / port radius?

not sure about this one, but it also has something to do with the sensitivity.
