How important is it to consider the sub displacement in a ported box? And what is the best way to calculate it? Is there a stat on the specs sheet of a sub that gives the displacement of the magnet and inner frame of the sub?

what sub do you have, and yes it can actually change your tuning depending on how big/small your sub may be.

It'll shrink the box size a little and raise the tuning a little(1-2hz) as well, depending on what woofers and how many you're using. It's too easy to not figure it in to your design.

I've found most 12s to be about .15 ft^3 displacement as long as it isn't like an Orion HCCA. I know its not exact but thats usually what I go by if I cant find the spec.

Generally your sub with have some kind of datasheet and it will be listed on there. If you tell us what sub it is, we can help you.
