Hopefully //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifI take it aeroport is meaning the port is extended completely outside the box and not inside, and by flare you mean make the end of the pipe flare outwards. So 18" tall straight out the top of the box with a flare and 4" diameter tunnel?
Would it add some air movement and bass?
Will that small of a box, it's possible you might bottom out easily so be careful.Aiy, I can do that easily! At the worst it will just sound the same huh?
It's more like a knocking noise than a farting noise. Been there done that before //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifMeaning if i get that bad farting/knocking noise turn the gains down, right?
That's a tough question to answer. It depends on what perspective you are looking at. They take up less volume and can be overall smaller because of the less surface area in the port per square inch of port. But it's hard to find the perfect ratio because they only come in 3", 4", 6", etc where you can adjust a square/rectangular port by any measurement you please. Aeroports are also harder to bend, they don't provide bracing in the box, and they are generally more expensive.Aero ports are far more superior to any normal wood port though arent they?
Polyfil would be good in your situation.Price wise, I was mentioning PVC pipe because I was just going to drill a hole 4" in the top left hand corner of the box and drop that pipe down in there and glue it. Possibly put 1lb of polyfil in the box to consume some of the air?
You don't have to set it at the same frequency your box is tuned at. All the people that tune their boxes at 38 hz would be shit out of luck. What do you have the low pass filter set to on your amp. When you have a ported box you need to make sure you set it at the same frequency as box is tuned to or you will bottom out easily and blow your subs
