i need some help pickin the right size box for my 2 '05 L7 12's

i got 14x16x38 to work with in my trunk there going in a 2000 camry pushed by a kicker1200x1

i was hopin for a ported xoz for daily use wit a competition here and there so i wasnt really sure wut to tune to or how big to actually make it.

As big as possible. right now you are looking at 12.5*14.5*36.5 = 3.8 gross cf. When you include port volume and sub displacement (total of ~.5cf) you get about 1.6 for each sub. 10s may be a better bet here.

I just built a 5.2ft NET ported box for a camry identical to yours. You can fit much bigger than 1.75 each in those cars. I think it is around 37 by 26 by 16? Its actually the perfect box for your app., tuned to 36hz which is what those L7's love is a tad higher tuning.

That would be much better

Then go with 10s.

I would give them at least 1.75 each after port and evrything else is taken out.Tune them a lil high also 35-36 and youll have more trunk and they will still sound great.

Come out to about 20 inches and youll have enough airspace for what you need for 2 10s I believe.

wut about this i got it from klausaudio.com

Port Tuning: 37 Hz

Port Dimensions: 13.1875 x 3.75 inches (Height x Width)

(port length is not displayed)

Port area: 49.45 square inches

Number of Ports: 1

Net Internal Volume: 4 cubic feet

Port Volume: 0.52 cubic feet (includes displacement of port materials)

Total Internal Volume: 4.52 cubic feet

Number of Terminal Cups: 1 per subwoofer

Front Baffle: Single-Layer Front Baffle - 3/4" Thick

Box Dimensions: ** Please ensure that this will fit in your vehicle before completing your order **

38" (w) x 18.1875" (d) x 14.6875" (h)

Works out to be 1.8 after you take out the sub displacement.

Thats too small really for a 12L7.It will sound Ok for rock/country/pop......but wont go low for rap/hip hop/ and stuff like that and will lack in the bottom end where these speakers like to live.

Net Internal Volume: 4 cubic feet

Then you take out Sub displacement.

If you take the demin. X*X*X/1728=cuft then you take out all the stuff in it like port displacement/ wood thickness/sub displacement/bracing.
