If you run the port externally, does it take up space or add to space inside the enclosure. Same idea as inverting your subs, they still take up space inside the enclosure, correct?

if the port/woofer isn't in the box, it doesn't take up space in the box......

So, in the case of an inverted port, the port volume would be added to the total enclosure size, rather than being subtracted from it?

no, the port volume isn't counted in the box volume
