Just had a crazy idea for an amplifier...

Anyone know of an amplifier that is capable of 2kw RMS at any impedance (0.5 to 4) and is made with very high quality parts?

If such an amp existed I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Nearly anything you can wire to 1/2 you can wire to 2 ohms.

nothing that I know of. there are some small power amps that do that but nothing high power. And like Jake said, you wouldn't have a reason to need the amp to go down to .5

To make a amp of that nature wouldn't be that hard to do it.

Just if a somebody is willing to design and sell it is another question.

it's stable down to .5ohm....bridgible in 2 channel mode and in parellel mode

has real active current servo's and puts out 2400w rms on the weekest note

the drawbacks are the power that is needed to properly operate it but with

a juiced up electrical system the performance is nothing short of awsome

im sure an amp like that. to put out that much power at all those loads would be closer to 5K$$

The Phoenix Gold x1200.1 does its power at 1-4ohm and they are usually under rated, most bench in the 1400w range.
