port placement

i am getting ready to get some new subs, don't know what kind yet, but when i build my box should i put the port on the same side as the driver, on the top, the back? i am going to have the sub facing the back of my hatch but where to put the port i dont know, does it matter?

If you have a hatch, id fire the port backwards and the sub up.

i Have had the best luck with putting the port on the same side as the driver. There are some people on here that would mathmatically prove why that is the best. But having the port on the same side of the driver is supposed to be the best placement. Do a search on it, there was a thread about it not to long ago.

well in that case "in your opinion" would it be better to point it at the glass or back. 92 hyundai excel

the same side as the driver, i have only heard a system in a hatch where the driver was facing back along with the ports. Sounds pretty good. I would say put the ports on the same side as the sub and then face the subs back.

ok i got my new sub 15 hcca. now with a diff question. . . can you put a port on one side of the car i.e. sub in the middle (facing back) and the port on the left or right of the sub? will that sound balanced? or should it be in the center? i was thinking 2 ports one on each side but i didn't know if that was such a good idea.any help appreciated.

yea, driver and port on the same face but the driver in the center of the box, in the center of the car and the port on one side of the car. will this make the bass sound like its coming from one side( the side w/ the port) more than the other side?

also would 2.25ft^3 @30Hz be good for this sub?someone said 5-5.5ft^3 but i just don't know if ican fit that in my little car, without it taking up all the room.
