hey im about to start working on my new project. partial wall in my eclipse. i gotta have enough room to carry 3 people. so ima use 18 re 8s wired to 2 ohms powered by 2 tsunami 1800t amps. now for the port. i was thinking it would be kewl to have the port right behind my center console. so its right by the driver and passanger. but i have heard that the longer the bass wave the louder it is so this would make me think to put the port in the back firing against my trunk. but then again when doing port wars the mic is right next to or inside of the port so the bass wave would not be very long but in port wars you get a very high db score. can some one help as to where i should position my port for max spl???

then for that car i would think port placed two portwidths away from rear wall of hatch. though, i have NO NUMBERS for that car to support that comment. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

thats based on 2 dd's in a mustang hatch.

best bet: try a few different boxes/ports/ways to see what yields the highest numbers. squeezing every fractio out for legal can be tough and tricky. its gotten the better of me a few times. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif
