Port Placement in a 4Runner

Alright, so I'm getting ready to submit a design request to buck for my 4runner, but I just had another new thought.

I'm trying to decide between these 2 designs for a Daily Driver / Demo Rig set-up. Numbers are not a concern at all.

Sub up, Port to the driver's or passenger's side.

Measurements:

36 D, 20 H, 38 W.

Port 7 Inches from side walls, wheel well not obstructing the port.

Sub Up, Port back

Measurements:

31 D, 20 H, 38 W

Port 5 Inches from the rear hatch

I just need some guidance since I've never done an SUV until now. Please specify which side you think the port should be on to yield the best results.

subs up ,port back ,in the center
A center port would have to be put in the bottom of the box, I originally planned on that, but the numbers don't match up, most port area per cube I can get without getting like 34Hz tuning would be 12.32 / ft, and I'm also not sure that the box design would work well.

Generally sub up, port back is the first choice, and sub up, port up is the second. That's what I see roll through this site anyway.
That's what I've seen too, but I've heard of the Port up configuration sounding terrible due to loading issues on the roof, and the majority of the recommendations for the sub up, port back set-up I've seen were for people chasing numbers.

Well I can't help you any more than that :crap:
@pro\-rabbit @Buck @double 07 might be able to shed some light.

I'll be watching this though because I'm going to be doing a build in the spring in (hopefully) a Blazer.

I threw together a couple designs for both set-up's, still can't get the numbers I want on Port back, but port to the side the options are seemingly limitless, anywhere from 7.5-9 Cubes, 31-34Hz, all perfect Port area/ft. Waiting to see what Buck comes up with for Port back.
