Port location on box????

Are there any pros or cons in having the port run along the whole bottom of the box then the usual (left, middle, or right)??

like if i built a box 33"w x 16"h x 19"d, would it make any difference if i made the port 33"w x 2"h instead of the same box with the port on the left side that is 4"w x 14.5"h?

i know that the 33 x 2 would give me 66 sq in of port

and the 4 x 14.5 would give me 58 sq in of port

from what i've seen on your posts is that you should go to this wonderful place called ebay, scroll down, should be a link on the bottom of the page, and find a fantabulous pre fab box, simply because you know nothing.

altho you will have more port area i believe the narrow port will increase your port velocity and may create port noise, but im not sure
