port length ?

does a shorter port produce more spl mine is 21.5"deep tuned to 32hz but lets say i cut it down to 16" this will raise my tuning 4hz to 36hz will i notice a incress on the tl and about what will the gain be think it will pick up a few tenths or nothing i know i cant tell much till i try but the comp is tommorrow and if its not worth the time i will wait till i can do some testing any help please

i think it might give a tiny difference, best to find out what your car peaks at and tune to that.

i did a sweep and my car peaked @ 34hz and last week i did a sweep again and it peaked @ 42hz and i did not change anything when it peaked @34hz i did a 150.xx and when it peaked at 42 i did a 148.7 but it was hotter and on a mountain my have played a role in this but 2db lower i did not think it would drop that much

Cut it down. Your score will probably go up.

Your box will also be bigger, did you add that in?
